Wedding Transportation

If you are planning for a wedding, have you ever given any thought to transportation? How the bride and groom will arrive at location of wedding? These are not simply a logistical questions but it is also a matter of style. The means of transportation that you select to take you from your home to ceremony and from ceremony to reception should blend in completely with your overall wedding theme.

There are many choices available for wedding transportations. You want that your transportation make you feel as special as the rest of your wedding, so this is not the day to take the subway or drive yourself in your usual car. Part of being a bride or groom is being pampered and you will wish to treat yourself to something that feels luxurious.

The traditional transportation for the bride and groom is a limousine. Limos are generally black or white and are available in many different sizes. White cars certainly scream “wedding” while black limos are suitable for all special occasions. While determining the size of car to hire, stop and consider who might ride it besides the bride and groom. Most often, the bride and all her bridesmaids will take the limo from home to the ceremony and after that the bride and groom will wish to be alone in the limo.

There are also other types of cars which can be hired for the wedding day. A very official wedding with groom in black tie and the bride in a fancy gown with complicated wedding jewelry would require a very special car such as a Bentley. For brides who favor a more discreet elegance, a Town car can prove to be a nice choice. There has been a fashion in recent years towards using huge cars such as stretch Hummers, but with the move towards greener way of life, a giant gas-guzzler is possible to appall rather than impressing your guests. It is always nicer to make a mistake on the side of being less pretentious.

It is not necessary that your wedding transportation should be a car. A carriage and horse is also a lovely way for the bride and groom to travel. Find out someone who specializes in weddings and will dress-up the coach with beautiful flowers. A variation on this idea is a horse-drawn sleigh for a winter wedding. This can prove to be perfect for a bride who is having a winter wonderland themed wedding.

With all of the many wedding details to be taken into consideration, great transportation may not be at the forefront of your mind. Always remember that the bride and groom should definitely travel in style on their wedding day. Take your time in choosing a special transportation which will add fun to your big day.
